Painting Table (2020)

Paint, papier-mâché, plaster, and a performance

A table, a gathering, a painting.

Painting Table began from sheets of paper that bore my paintings. Over time, I slowly constructed a papier-mâché table with customised holders for my painting tools. The table was made in the sculpture studio, where I was the only student painting when everyone else was making sculptural works. For the performance, I invited students from the sculpture department to a painting party in a gallery that I painted black, turning the environment into a painting.
